3rd Annual Blackfriars Heirloom Peony Pop-Up

Join us Saturday, June 1st for the flower pop-up our hearts wait for every year!

Susan Jory Interiors and Tania Floral are pleased to announce the Third Annual Blackfriars Peony Pop Up. Year 3?! Oh, how the time glows! We warmly welcome you to stop, smell the peonies and acquaint yourself with Blackfriars’ best kept secret, if you're somehow not familiar already!?

On Saturday June 1st, in the heart of Blackfriars you can find us designing bouquets comprised of a mix of over 50 varieties of heirloom peonies, some of which have been growing on this heritage property for over a century. 81 Wilson Avenue is a very special place, for many lovely reasons. Not only is this where Susan and her family dream, create and live but it is also a home brimming with marvelous heritage. Built in 1855, this heritage home was owned by Alexander Leslie - the nurseryman of our dreams! Originally sitting among 20 acres of land, Mr. Leslie’s home was surrounded by the richest soil and a labour of irreplaceable love supplying flowers for local markets, and florists across The Forest City. Today, 81 Wilson Ave holds on tight to an acre of land and employs a legacy of iris, peonies, lilacs, roses, cherry, apple and plum trees - just to name a few!
We would love for you to gather in garden with us, celebrate heritage, community and the bounty that nature showers us with everyday. And what better way to invigorate your heart and home than with fresh peonies...

Misha Bower Hometown Release, Blackfriars Nursery - June 5th

Please join us Wednesday, June 5th for the beautiful album release of Misha Bower's 'Trying to Have it All'.

Bower, who hails from London On., is known as the co-founder of Toronto-based band Bruce Peninsula and is an accomplished vocal guest with Daniel Romano, The Weather Station, City and Colour, Timber Timbre and Snowblink. She now emerges as a singer-songwriter with her debut album, Trying to Have it All.

Misha’s last solo effort was a collection of short stories titled Music for Uninvited Guests (Cringles, 2012). On Trying to Have it All, she tells new stories in song, each track delineating a character in a crucial moment of disclosure. Defiant, playful, reflective, radically honest—each character is accompanied by an arrangement that opens up like a secret inner door. With a full band, soaring strings, intimate guitar and piano and impassioned vocals, Trying to Have it All is a journey through different takes on the art of coping.

It is with great pleasure to announce this beautiful show and with it, the very first music show held at Blackfriars Nursery. Come for an evening with some of London's finest musicians, as the sun sets over our beautiful Forest City with delightful refreshments from Jazmine of Juicy Tings and celebratory flowers by Tania Floral. This event is BYO - Lawn Chair and will be a magical evening that celebrates the artist and the community that supports them while being surrounded by the harmonies of the season!
Please come ready to be inspired, moved and lifted. What a night it will be!
